NEMI AI × BNC Motors · Electric motorcycle program

A production-ready EV motorcycle in 9 months.

The LMM's orchestration layer compressed a benchmarked 18-month EV motorcycle development cycle to 9 months, a 50% reduction, taking the BNC Messenger C110 from blank sheet to production-ready.

The Client

BNC is an EV company, a subsidiary of NEMI, building affordable electric vehicles for commercial and last-mile fleets across India, Africa and South Asia. The Messenger C110 is its 100–125 cc-equivalent electric motorcycle for African commercial riders.

The Brief

An electric motorcycle for the African fleet rider.

A 100–125 cc-equivalent electric motorcycle for African commercial riders, boda-boda operators and last-mile fleets.

01

Carry 250 kg

Haul up to 250 kg over unpaved roads, far from fixed charging infrastructure.

02

Sub-$1,000

Hit a sub-$1,000 price point that makes fleet economics work.

03

Rugged & removable

Minimal-maintenance build with removable batteries for swap-and-go operation.

04

Match the ICE

Match the spec and aesthetic of the ICE vehicles it replaces.

What we did

Concept to production-ready, in four stages.

The Messenger C110 moved from concept to production-ready through four key stages, each driven by the LMM.

01 · Render

Sketch to 3D

Lumos converts product sketches and 2D requirements into 3D STL renders.

02 · CAD

CAD & schematics

Anvil's generative CAD converts STL to STP and generates the electronic schematics.

03 · Simulation

FEA, thermal & DFM

Anvil's automated meshing and simulation for FEA and thermal; DFM automated too.

04 · Prototype

Build & validate

LMM build packages drive machining, fabrication, 3D printing and electronics assembly for rapid test.

*Benchmark based on 5+ years in EV motorcycles, 18 months is best-case (median ~36 months for new platforms) at ~$10M. Publicly listed EV motorcycle companies typically show 3+ years and $50M+ development cost per platform.

I have worked with two of the largest motorcycle companies in the world for decades. When I joined BNC and gave them requirements for a vehicle that could secure a dominant position in the African market, I never imagined we would turn it around into a ready-to-sell product in such a short term. It's a really unheard-of level of speed and capital efficiency.

Outcome & next steps

The Messenger C110 reached production-ready in 9 months, a 50% compression of the 18-month benchmark. Total program spend came in under $1M versus a $10M+ traditional benchmark.

  • Initial orders received; production has started.
  • Rapid design iteration underway from field feedback.

Your program could be the next one.
